The Timed Campaign is used to send a series of messages upon request.
Step-by-Step
(1) To create a Timed Campaign, select Create New Campaign from the left navigation panel on the product dashboard. You will be taken to a screen (below) presenting a list of text message campaigns available. Click the Create button alongside Timed.
(2) The Choose Your Campaign homepage is where you establish the parameters for your campaign.
The first step is providing Campaign Type data about your Timed program:
- Select a shared shortcode to use. A shortcode is a short form mobile phone number which is used along with a keyword to enable customers to participate in your Chat Campaign.
- Select a Start Date and Time for your campaign.
(3) Next, provide a description of your Timed campaign for reference only.
Here you also assign a keyword for responders to request a list of voting options.
This Keyword must be unique from others associated with the shortcode you selected previously – the system is smart enough to tell you. There is a many to one relationship between keywords and shared shortcodes.
(4) Now you establish the message flow for your Timed campaign.
First provide the message respondents will receive upon texting the keyword from the prior step.
You also provide here another message in the event responders attempt to opt in again.
Choose your time zone.
(5) Now you must finalize the Timed campaign’s details.
When done, select the Activate Campaign button.
(6) That’s it! Your Timed campaign is now active.
You will arrive at a new screen summarizing details of your campaign, offering real time charts of campaign activity and a flow illustrating the messages that comprise the campaign.
Here you also have the ability to establish Alias Keywords which allow tracking of response by different ways you communicate the program. You may also elect to prompt users to join a pre-existing Subscription list for engaging customers in dialogues beyond the parameters of the Chat Campaign.
Unique to the Timed campaign is the ability to configure messages to be triggered at some point following opt in.
(7) Selecting Add timed message brings you to a new screen where you establish a message to be sent in a time period immediately following opt in or at any future date.
You may submit multiple timed messages.
(8) Here you have additional options including:
- Adding an Age Verification step to your message flow, useful when products associated with your business are age restricted, such as alcohol or tobacco.
- You can also delete the campaign from the system as well.
