Entertainment is a proven type of content used to engage customers effectively via the mobile channel. Marketers use Trivia often at live events to pose interesting questions, and select winners based on points for correct answers, or via random or manual selection.
Step-by-Step
(1) To create a Trivia Campaign, select Create New Campaign from the left navigation panel on the product dashboard. You will be taken to a screen (below) presenting a list of text message campaigns available. Click the Create button alongside Trivia.
(2) The Choose Your Campaign homepage is where you establish the parameters for your campaign.
The first step is providing Campaign Type data about your Trivia program:
- Select a shared shortcode to use. A shortcode is a short form mobile phone number which is used along with a keyword to enable customers to participate in your Trivia Campaign.
- Select a Start Date and Time for your campaign.
- Select an End Date and Time for your campaign.
(3) Next, provide a description of your Trivia Campaign for reference only.
Here you also assign a keyword for responders to participate in your Trivia Campaign.
This Keyword must be unique from others associated with the shortcode you selected previously – the system is smart enough to tell you. There is a many to one relationship between keywords and shared shortcodes.
You also select from two types of trivia campaigns; random selection and first to answer all question/s correctly. You also select here whether or not this is a single or multi-question campaign.
(4) Now you define the question/s to be posed as part of your Trivia Campaign.
Enter as many questions as you wish to pose along with an optional clue that can be requested by responders.
Then associate a keyword to be sent to a shortcode as a means of answering questions, and identify right versus wrong responses as shown.
When done, select the Next button.
(5) Now you must finalize the Trivia Campaign’s details.
Choose here when the winner/s will be announced and the number of winners possible.
Also set message responses for all entries, winner/s and losers.
When done, select the Activate Campaign button.
(6) That’s it! Your Trivia Campaign is now active.
You will arrive at a new screen summarizing details of your campaign, offering real time charts of campaign activity and a flow illustrating the messages that comprise the campaign.
Here you also have the ability to establish Alias Keywords which allow tracking of response by different ways you communicate the program. You may also elect to prompt users to join a pre-existing Subscription list for engaging customers in dialogues beyond the parameters of the Trivia Campaign. You can also add questions to the campaign at this point.
(7) Here you have additional options including:
- Adding an Age Verification step to your message flow, useful when products associated with your business are age restricted, such as alcohol or tobacco.
- Export messages from the system in comma delimited form.
- You can also delete the campaign from the system as well.
