Info-on-demand / Autoresponder

Introduction

Relevant information has value to customers.  Offering it in exchange for a mobile interaction is one approach used to engage customers in a mobile dialogue.  Make your customers aware of a new product, point them to a mobile web experience, offer to have a live person follow up – these are all common and effective applications of an Information Campaign.

Step-by-Step

(1) To create an Information Campaign, select Create New Campaign from the left navigation panel on the product dashboard.  You will then be taken to a screen (below) presenting a list of text message campaigns available.  Click the Create button alongside Info.

(2) The New Info Campaign homepage is where you establish the parameters for your campaign.

The first step is providing Basic Information about your campaign:

  1. Select a shared shortcode to use.  A shortcode is a short form mobile phone number which is used along with a keyword to enable customers to redeem their information.
  2. Select a Start Date and Time for your campaign.
  3. Select an End Date and Time for your campaign.

(3) Next, provide a description of your campaign for reference only, and enter a Keyword that your Subscribers will send to your chosen shortcode to receive information.  This Keyword must be unique from others associated with the shortcode you selected previously – the system is smart enough to tell you.  There is a many to one relationship between keywords and shared shortcodes.

Here, you also set what type of response you wish responders to receive – an SMS text message or WAP Push (a specially encoded message which presents the recipient with the option to view mobile web content).

You can also establish if content will be standard rate per plans typically bundled in customer mobile plans, or premium, which incurs an additional charge above standard messaging rates in exchange for content.  With premium programs, our system would deliver the content and initiate a billing trigger to the aggregator, which would then be handed off to the carrier and ultimately billed to the end customer.

(4) Now you define the messages associated with your Info Xampaign.

You can also add a carrier specific override message here.  Clicking on the option gives you the chance to have unique messages sent to specific carrier subscribers.

Once all fields have been configured, click on the Create button.

(5)  That’s it!  Your Info Campaign is now active.

You will arrive at a new screen summarizing details of your campaign, offering real time charts of info redemption activity and a flow illustrating the messages that comprise the campaign.

Here you also have the ability to establish Alias Keywords which allow tracking of response by different ways you communicate the program.  You may also register to receive real time notification of responses, and prompt users to join a pre-existing Subscription list for engaging customers in dialogues beyond the parameters of the Info Campaign.

(6) You are also provided additional options including:

  1. Adding an Age Verification step to your message flow, useful when products associated with your business are age restricted, such as alcohol or tobacco.
  2. Export allows message response data export from the system in comma delimited form.
  3. You can also duplicate/rename the campaign if you wish to re-use its attributes or delete it from the system as well.
